Paddlesport Leader Basic Training Days are opportunities for all leaders and instructors to learn how they can obtain the skills to deliver paddlesport activities. The course introduces potential instructors and group leaders to a range of paddlesport activities giving participants the confidence to take an active part in the delivery of activities led by others. The course educates the new leader or aspirant instructor about other courses they can attend to provide them the skills and experience required to take a more active role in the delivery of activities that may eventually result in them leading their own activities. Leaders from any youth organisation (Scouts, Guides, Youth clubs) that are likely to want to deliver activity during the forthcoming season are encouraged to attend this training day. CST Instructors and aspirant instructors are also encouraged to attend. This second of two courses with this one taking place on a Saturday. The morning session will be theory based with focus given to the organisation and management of activity, qualifications of leaders,  leader ratios, training opportunities and elements of safety, following a tea break we will take a tour of the site refamiliarising leaders with equipment storage, facility management and organisation methods that we require you to adopt when hosting activity. In the afternoon following a provided BBQ lunch,  participants will be given an opportunity to take to the water to practice their personal paddling skills, in a range of craft that includes open canoes, kayaks, SUPs and kats. We will also run a workship for anyone wishing to run improvised rafting sesssions with bolted frame rafts. Pictures below of participants trying their hands at SUP last year. Book a course and pay the fee to obtain a full refund and bbq lunch on the day.
