Whitsun sees a range of courses specifically aimed at providing tuition for those that wish to acquire a basic competance in a range of paddlesport craft, our  second course focusses on Stand Up Paddle Boarding.

Paddleboards first became popular in the 1990s and have slowley become recognised as a method for the average joe to get out there and start paddling. Most paddleboards whilst appearing solid are infact inflatable so can be deflated, making them easier to transport than other types of paddlesport craft.

Our course explains the basic parts of the board, how to use the paddle and a little safety talk before we go afloat. Once aboard we teach you the basics of balence, forward paddling, how to turn and how to climb back on board after you fall in.

The second half of the course sees us try out the Mega SUP, these 18 foot long versions of the one person board can accommodate up to ten people on a craft that is equally unstable and will require everyone to work together to get it to where you want in to go.

Both SUP types use a single bladed paddle and we will show you how to get the best out of your paddle before and during your time afloat.

The course assumes you are a complete beginner when it comes to SUP so is equally suited to someone who has never paddled before or someone who has not paddled for years and is prepared to start over again to get back in to the sport.

During the course we will play a few games that will involve you getting wet. Wetsuits can be provided should you think require one.

This course is suited to anyone aged 13 or older.
