Whitsun sees a range of courses specifically aimed at providing tuition for those that wish to Lead in a range of paddlesport craft. Our second course in this series focusses on the SUP and the Mega SUP and gives the youth leader or aspirant instructor a specific lesson in how to organise a SUP or a Mega SUP activity. The course includes activity planning, which could include warm ups, selection of equipment, boat carrying techniques and launching.

We show you how to introduce use board, the use of the least and hpow to adjust and use the Paddle. How to get on board, why you should not stand up close to the shore and how to teach some basic strokles whilst how to best manage a group on the water, establishing safe areas and boundaries in which to operate that allows you to keep your group close and under your control.

The session will introduce you to a number of SUP specific activities and games that you can use with your groups and later discusses what might go wrong in running a session so that you are better prepared to manage a situation should it occur.

After a short break, we repeat the exercise this time bringing in to play the use of the Mega SUP, with activities more suited to groups each occupying their own mega SUP.

Note this course only loosly covers rescue techniques, participants should be familiar with rescue techniques before attending this course for which a PSR course is reccomended.

This course is suited to anyone aged 16 or older.
